Kingdom Maker:

Separate blog post for discussing the, as of writing this, upcoming game by KIXEYE, known as Kingdom Maker. A game that has been in development since as early as 2015 if not earlier.

Key Details:

Project Name: Kingdom Maker [1]
Game Engine: Unknown, but likely Unity [2]
Genre/s: Unknown
Platform: Mobile Devices [1]
Started Development: Early 2015 [3] [4]
Status: Active [5]
Known KIXEYE Staff Involved:
  • David Scott
  • Paul Preece
  • Will Harbin
    • Role: Unknown, he'll probably screw it up though
Other Notable Details:
Had a Trademark Extension granted in February 2018 (Second Extension.)

There have been at least 5 jobs advertised for positions at KIXEYE's San Francisco Office, likely/seemingly relating to Kingdom Maker. Two have since been removed, but three, as of writing this, remain open for application.

Notice: As these are job applications, none of these links/web-pages are guaranteed to remain open for viewing and are subject to removal at any time. Should at any point these URL's should become non-functional, screenshot links have been provided so they can still be read (with the exceptions of the first two jobs as I failed to screenshot them at the time they were available to be read.)

Citations, Sources & Details:

Notice: Do note that some citations listed/linked to below are not in my control and may be removed at any given time without warning. Screenshots have been linked as well in case the original sources go missing/get removed and may even replace original citations entirely.

[1] Trademarkia Link: Trademark monitoring website listing some basic details pertaining to Kingdom Maker, such as Trademark Extensions and intended platforms.

[2] This is based on job listing details and timings. Evidence points to these listings relating to a Unity Title, which seems strongly linked in turn to Kingdom Maker.

[3] & [4] Links to a Facebook post and Online News Article respectively which quote Will Harbin making references to a "special project" that he is personally involved with, working with David Scott and Paul Preece on.

[5] Trademarkia.justia.com link - Website for monitoring trademarks. Lists Kingdom Maker details as Active with a third extension granted, the original filing date in 2016 as well.

[6] Links to "Team" Section of KIXEYE Corp. Website. Scroll down and click images of either Scott or Preece to read their profiles referencing the "unannounced" new mobile titles.

Speculation:

Gameplay Style: Unlike other titles in the KIXEYE line-up, Kingdom Maker doesn't feature an explicit reference to action, war, or violence within its title. (See War Commander, VEGA Conflict, etc for examples of what I mean by this.)

This could potentially hint that the game has lesser focus on battling other players/PvP action or an enemy AI (PvE) or that it may even remove the aspect entirely (though this is unlikely) and may focus on something else.

Unity Game Engine: Current evidence points toward the game using the Unity Engine, based on previous/current job listings. Technically this is unconfirmed information.

Release Date: According to previous articles, War Commander Rogue Assault, KIXEYE's first full fledged mobile game, was released at the end of 2016 after a 3 year development cycle.

Considering evidence points towards to "Kingdom Maker" having been in development since early 2015, if not earlier, this makes it possible that, assuming development continues to go smoothly, it may see a release in late 2018 or maybe early 2019 possibly as it will have been in development for over 3 years by that point.

Extra's:

kixeye.com/game/kingdommaker/ - Functional Link on the KIXEYE.com forums which re-directs users to kixeye.com/game/kingdommaker/home
This may be evidence KIXEYE are already doing some back-end working for the site to prepare it for Kingdom Maker's launch.
